I am in an online book study of Teaching Digital Natives: Partnering for Real Learning by Marc Prensky. It's fantastic! He encourages teachers to move from being the "sage on the stage" to the "guide on the side" and allowing students to play a larger role in their goals and learning. He has a great list of the nouns (technology tools, for example) that change radically and quickly, and verbs (critical thinking, etc.) that students have always and will always need. It would require a rather large shift in pedagogy for many teachers, but the engagement of students would make it worth the effort! Cool! ~dodie
